Moira the Moniaive Moggy is a gentle illustrated picture-book series set in the village of Moniaive, in Dumfries & Galloway.
The first book, Finding Her Place, follows Moira as she arrives somewhere new and quietly explores her surroundings. She watches, listens, and notices small acts of kindness as they appear — a bowl of milk, a familiar doorstep, a moment of calm.
The story is told through soft, thoughtful language and richly detailed illustrations inspired by real places in and around Moniaive. Nothing is rushed, and no decisions are forced. Instead, the book celebrates patience, trust, and the idea that belonging can take time.
